Privacy Policy

Scout & Tailor is based in Lafayette, California, United States. A job search is a private thing, and often a confidential one. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and what we will never do.
1. What we collect
- Contact details: your name and email address.
- Career information you submit: your resume, work history, education, certifications, skills, accomplishments, salary expectations, location and remote preferences, industry preferences, and any context you choose to share about gaps or goals.
- Order information: which package you bought and when. Payment card details go directly to our payment processor — we never see or store your card number.
- Basic correspondence: emails between you and us.
We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies on this site.
2. Why we use it
Solely to research job matches for you, write your documents, deliver them, handle revisions and support, and process your payment. We do not use your information to build marketing profiles, and we do not send marketing email to people who haven't ordered.
3. Who we share it with
Only the service providers required to run the business:

| AI processing provider | Research and drafting. Your information is processed to produce your documents and is not used to train public models. |
We will disclose information if legally required to do so. That is the only other circumstance.
4. What we never do
- We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- We never contact your current or former employers, colleagues, or references.
- We never submit applications or post your resume anywhere on your behalf.
- We never publish your name or details as a sample or testimonial without your explicit permission.
5. How long we keep it
We retain your questionnaire, resume, and delivered documents for 12 months after delivery, so that we can handle revisions and repeat orders without making you start over. After that we delete them. Order and payment records are kept longer where tax and accounting law requires it. You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time.
6. Your rights
Wherever you live, you may ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email scoutandtailor@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
California residents: under the CCPA/CPRA you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request deletion, to request correction, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. We will never discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
7. Security
Your information is held in access-controlled accounts protected by strong authentication, and is shared only with the providers listed above. No system is perfectly secure, and we won't pretend otherwise — but we collect only what we need and delete it on schedule, which is the most effective protection there is.
8. Children
Our services are intended for adults in the workforce. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change. Material changes affecting how we use information already collected will be emailed to affected clients.
